Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 5, 2025
Introduction
ReMeLife ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your data. As a Web3 platform, we believe in transparency, user sovereignty, and minimal data collection. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website at remelife.com, our browser extension, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Our Web3 Commitment: We collect only what's necessary for the Services to function. You own your data, and we're transparent about what we collect and why. Many features work without requiring personal information.
Information We Collect
Personal Information (Minimal & Optional)
We collect minimal personal information, and much of it is optional. When you create an account:
- Email address - Required for account recovery and important notifications
- Username - Your chosen identity in the community
- Password - Encrypted and never stored in plain text
- Profile information - Completely optional (bio, profile picture)
Note: Our browser extension can be used without an email address. Account creation is only needed for community features.
Blockchain & Wallet Information
As a Web3 platform, we work with blockchain data that you control:
- Wallet addresses - Public blockchain addresses you choose to connect
- CAPs balance - Your reward tokens (stored on-chain, not on our servers)
- Transaction history - Public blockchain transactions within the ReMeLife ecosystem
- Referral relationships - On-chain referral connections
Important: Blockchain data is public by nature. We don't control or own this data—you do through your wallet.

When you use our Services, we automatically collect:
- Device information (browser type, operating system)
- IP address and general location data
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
- Cookie data (for authentication and preferences)
Browser Extension Data
Our browser extension collects and stores:
- Authentication tokens (to maintain your logged-in session)
- Cached wallet balance and rewards data (for offline viewing)
- User preferences (theme, notification settings)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for what's necessary to provide the Services:
- Essential functionality - Authenticate your account and enable core features
- Your CAPs rewards - Display your balance and transaction history from the blockchain
- Important notifications - Alert you about rewards, security, and critical updates (you control these)
- Support - Help you when you reach out to us
- Security - Protect your account and prevent fraud
- Service improvement - Make the platform better based on how it's used (anonymized data only)
We do NOT: Sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Where We Store Your Data
Your data is securely stored on servers provided by Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest using industry-standard encryption.
Browser Extension Storage
The browser extension stores data locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API. This data includes authentication tokens and cached information. All sensitive data is encrypted.
Security Measures
- Passwords are hashed and salted using bcrypt before storage
- Authentication tokens expire and are regularly rotated
- All API communications use encrypted HTTPS connections
- Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We Do NOT Sell or Exploit Your Data
Period. We do not sell, trade, rent, or monetize your personal information. We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Your data is not a product.
This is a core Web3 principle: you own your data, not us.
Limited Disclosure Scenarios
We may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation
- Service Protection: To protect the rights, property, or safety of ReMeLife, our users, or the public
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (users will be notified)
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:
- Maintain your logged-in session
- Remember your preferences and settings
- Analyze usage patterns to improve our Services
You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of our Services.
