The legendary soaps star visited Boris Johnson at Downing Street yesterday to implore the leader to allocate more budget to Alzheimer’s patients. Barbara, 82, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a progressive form of dementia, in 2014 and has rarely made public appearances since the news was revealed. Speaking this morning, Scott, 56, revealed he had to tell Babs ‘eight times’ where she was going, as he explained her short term memory is all but gone.
He later added: ‘It’s in the moment. If we have dinner at 6.30 at 10 to seven she’ll say “what are going to have for dinner tonight?”’ The Peggy Mitchell actress revealed earlier this week she will hand an open letter to Boris in which she calls for more funds to be assigned to support other sufferers of the condition. Her meeting with the PM seemed to go down without a hitch, as the two joked and conversed over a cup of tea in his backyard.
